Seizing God’s Likeness

Satan and the Rulers of this Age exalt themselves and usurp Divine prerogatives in contrast to the true Servant of God, Jesus Christ.

Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled the role of the ‘Suffering Servant’ described in the Book of Isaiah. He did not attempt to seize the “likeness of God” as Adam did or exploit his position as God’s Messiah to exercise power over others. His sovereignty is radically different than the governments of this fallen world. Rather than subjugate his subjects or kill his enemies, Christ endured a shameful death on the Imperial Cross for friend and foe alike in obedience to his Father; therefore, God exalted him above all things.

Idolizing the Beast

The Empire’s propagandists encourage men and women to give allegiance and veneration to the Emperor, the Beast from the Sea.

The “False Prophet” as described in the Book of Revelation uses religious symbolism and economic control to coax the Inhabitants of the Empire to pay homage to the Imperial Throne. Whether force or persuasion is employed, the goal is the same. Men who refuse to venerate the “Beast from the Sea” are excluded from economic activity and impoverished.

Caesar, His Reign, Kingdom

Absolute Lord

Jesus has reigned as the sole sovereign over the Earth and Cosmos since his death, resurrection, and ascension. Already he sits on the Messianic Throne of David as he reigns from “Mount Zion.” It is to him alone that his followers owe their complete allegiance, submission, and obedience, not to Caesar, and certainly not to any king, president, dictator, or emperor of this present age.

The Ancient Conspiracy

An aggressor may experience success for a time, but so far, every self-appointed global leader has floundered in the end. The empires of Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander, and Caesar have all collapsed and been assigned to History’s dustbin. This raises the question: Why?

Beastly Mark – Considerations

Discussions on the “Mark of the Beast” concentrate on deciphering the significance of its number, ‘666.’ Understandably, we wish to discover its meaning and thereby avoid taking it. However, to understand it we must first recognize the scriptural background behind the number, the relationship of the “Mark” to the “Seal of God,” the consequences of taking or refusing the “Mark” or the “Number of the Beast,” and the identities of the two groups that result from deciding whether to take it.
