His Kingdom

Jesus proclaimed a unique political reality, the Kingdom of God, one that differs radically from the governments and ideologies of this present age.

Jesus appeared in Galilee proclaiming the โ€œKingdom of Godโ€ โ€“ โ€œRepent, for the kingdom is at hand.โ€ The Kingdom promised by God was arriving in Christโ€™s life and ministry. He was the Messiah and King of Israel who summoned all men to turn from their wicked ways and submit to his lordship before the Judgment when it would be too late.

One Message for All Men

Jesus calls us to proclaim the Good News of his Kingdom to every nation and inhabited part of the Earth.

The Message proclaimed by Jesus Christ is not about reforming civil society or governments. He summons all men to repent and join a radically new social order and a very different political reality, namely, the Kingdom of God. His message is contrary to the political ideologies of this world. We must respond positively to his invitation since the end of the age is approaching when the existing order will disappear forever.

Shepherding Kings and Nations

The Nations and the Kings of the Earth are found in the City of New Jerusalem because of the redeeming work of the Lamb.

The Book of Revelation presents us with paradoxical images and visions that do not conform to our expectations about how God works. Christโ€™s purpose in subjugating His enemies and judging the nations differs radically from so-called โ€œhuman wisdom.โ€ Just as his contemporaries did not understand Jesus, so we too often fail to comprehend the โ€œSlain Lambโ€ and how he is โ€œshepherding the nations,โ€ present tense, from the Messianic Throne.

The Salvation of Yahweh

Jesus means โ€˜Yahweh saves.โ€™ In the man from Nazareth, the Salvation promised by the God of Israel has arrived for the Nations in all its glory.

The angel informed Joseph that the child carried by Mary was โ€œbegotten of the Holy Spirit,โ€ and he instructed Joseph to name the child โ€˜Jesusโ€™ – โ€œCall his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.โ€ This name pointed to the saving act of God for humanity that He was about to reveal. The world would behold the long-promised โ€œSalvation of Yahwehโ€ in Jesus of Nazareth, and especially in his Death and Resurrection.

Salvation for the Nations

The Good News announced by Jesus of Nazareth offers salvation and true life to men and women of every nation and nationality.

Jesus claimed that โ€œall authority in Heaven and on Earth is given to me, therefore, go and make disciples of all nations!โ€ He sent his disciples to announce his Lordship and Salvation to the โ€œends of the Earth,โ€ to every nation. With Christโ€™s Death and Resurrection, the Era of Salvation commenced, therefore, his life-giving message must be announced to all men and every people. The Son of God has achieved salvation for humanity!
