Multitudes from the Nations

The promise to bless all nations in Abraham culminates in the innumerable multitude of the Redeemed inhabiting New Jerusalem.

The foundation of the doctrine of redemption is the Covenant with Abraham. It includes the promises that โ€œall the nations of the Earth will be blessed in Abrahamโ€ and innumerable descendants of the Patriarch. โ€œI will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore <โ€ฆ> and in your seed will all the nations of the earth be blessedโ€ โ€“ (Genesis 22:17).

No Other Name!

Jesus Christ fulfills the promise to bless all nations in Abraham. There is salvation in No Other Name.

Basic to the biblical doctrine of redemption is the covenant with Abraham and his โ€œSeed.โ€ It included the promise that โ€œall the nations of the Earth would be blessed in him,โ€ and the Patriarch would have innumerable descendants. PROMISED SPIRIT – NEW COVENANT

SYNOPSIS – The Church and the gift of the Spirit have been integral to the redemptive plan of God from the very beginning

In his letter to the Galatians, the Apostle Paul links the โ€œpromise of the Spiritโ€ to the โ€œblessing of Abraham.โ€ The Law pronounced a curse on anyone who did โ€œnot continue in all things writtenโ€ in it, therefore, Jesus came under its curse to redeem men and women from it, that โ€œthe blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faithโ€ – (Genesis 12:2-3, Galatians 3:10-14).

LAND PROMISE AND NEW CREATION

In Jesus, the original and limited land promise to Abraham now encompasses the entire “cosmos.”

Foundational to the biblical idea of redemption is the promise to Abraham of a land inheritance for his offspring. Though originally confined to the small territory of Canaan, implicit in the covenant promise was a future fulfillment that would encompass all nations and the entire earth, if not the wholeย Cosmosย – (โ€œSo shall be blessed in youย all the families of the earthโ€).

HEIR OF THE WORLD

According to Paul, the land promised to Abraham envisioned the inclusion of the entire world โ€“ Romans 4:13.

God began to redeem humanity with His covenant with Abraham, beginning with the summons for him to leave his homeland for the โ€œland that I will show you.โ€ Yahweh would make him into a โ€œgreat nation,โ€ and in the Patriarch, He would โ€œbless all the clans of the earth.โ€ And from the start, the land promise was central to the covenant.
