Having overcome the “beast,” Christians reign as a “kingdom of Priests” now and during the “thousand years.”
According to Revelation, believers are a priestly kingdom, present tense. By his death, Jesus has “loosed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father.” Already, saints that “overcome” qualify to reign with Jesus on his throne, “just as I also overcame and sat down on my Father’s throne.”

The Abyss is the source of satanic attacks against the people of God, though it remains under the authority of the Lamb – Revelation 11:7.
When first introduced, “smoke” and the horde of locust-like creatures were seen ascending from the “Abyss” to torment the “inhabitants of the earth.” In Revelation, it is a deep pit from which satanic agencies ascend to wreak havoc and wage war against the “saints.” It is also the “prison” where demonic forces are held until their appointed time to execute their evil deeds.

Satan is released for a “short season” to launch his attack on the saints, but he is the one destroyed – Revelation 20:7-10.
The time has come for Satan’s final demise. The book’s second literary division introduced the enemies of the “Lamb” – The “Dragon,” Beast,” “False Prophet,” and “Babylon.” In the third division, their destruction occurs in reverse order – “Babylon,” “Beast” and “False Prophet” together, and finally, the “Dragon.”

Overcoming saints reign as a “kingdom of Priests” during the “thousand years,” having overcome the “beast” – Revelation 20:4-6.
During the “thousand years,” Satan is imprisoned, and the victorious saints begin to reign. Ironically, the “rest of the dead” do not live until the “second death” at the “Great White Throne of Judgment.” Behind the image of the saints’ reign is Daniel’s vision of “one like a Son of Man” who received the “kingdom” from the “Ancient of Days.”
